March For the Love of Reading 2023 #Giveaway Hop! #ReadMoreBooks #Reading #BTEvents

Read Across America Week runs from March 2-6 this year. It begins on Dr. Suess' birthday, but the entire month of March is dedicated to reading.

Why is reading so important?

Well, according to Healthline.com, reading improves brain performance, reduces stress, aids in sleep, lowers blood pressure and heart rate, helps fight depression, increases the ability to empathize with other people, increases your vocabulary and comprehension, and could help you live longer!

With so many benefits, why wouldn't you want to read more?

As an avid reader, I read all year long. Since I was a child, I've been reading anything I can get my hands on. Not only am I a reader, but I worked in a bookstore for several years, and I'm also an author. I'm not kidding when I say reading is my life! :)

And since I love book recommendations, I thought I'd share a few with you!

February Favorites 2023 Giveaway Hop #FebruaryFavorites #BTEvents

February is the month for lovers! And the perfect month to read romance. Well, all year is perfect for that, but let's not get nitpicky.

This month, I'd like to share my favorite Valentine's Day romance books. Then don't forget to enter the giveaway for a chance to win a $10 Amazon Gift Card.

When ARP warden Molly sees a light shining through the darkness of London on a cold winter's night in the middle of the blitz she's infuriated with the careless American who struck it. Doesn't he know there's a war on?

Guy's just trying to find his way through a maze of unlit streets. He's very sorry and Molly reluctantly forgives him. When he accompanies her on her nightly rounds the two learn about each other, themselves and whether it's really possible to fall in love in only one night - especially when there's no guarantee of tomorrow.

Check out other titles in the Candy Hearts series.

Four women who are about to dig up the truth!

Tired of boyfriends who drain you dry? Sick of guys who stay out all night howling at the moon? You can do better. Some men want you not only for your body, but your brains. Especially your brains.

It's true! There are men out there who care--early-rising, down-to-earth, indefatigable men who'll follow you for miles. They'll take the time to surprise you, over and over. One sniff of that perfume, and you'll have to use a shotgun to fight them off. And then, once you get together, all they want is to share a nice meal. And another. And another.

Romeo and Juliet, eat your hearts out.

*NOTE: This book is currently out-of-print, but you can still find the author's individual stories published.

Bring Out Your Dead by Katie Macalister
Zombiewood Confidential by Marianne Mancusi
Every Part of You by Lisa Cach

Six beloved authors deliver romantic Valentine novellas set in Jane Austen's Regency world. Robin Helm, Laura Hile, Wendi Sotis, and Barbara Cornthwaite, together with Susan Kaye and Mandy Cook, share variations of Pride and Prejudice, Persuasion, and Sense and Sensibility, featuring your favorite characters in sequels, adaptations, and spinoffs of Austen's adored novels. Experience uplifting romance, laugh-out-loud humor, and poignant regret as these authors deftly tug on your heartstrings this Valentine's Day.

Trista is excited to take Zeek, her zombie, out for a Valentine's Day treat. Once back at home, Zeek surprises her with a treat of his own.

*Note: This is the 2nd installment in the silly Sexy Zombie Tales short story series. It is highly recommended that you read A Zombie Ate My Panties first.

The heroes are deliciously imperfect, but the way they love will leave you breathless. It's a good thing no one ever said the path to happily ever after would be easy.

Inside the pages of this laugh-out-loud romcom boxed set, you'll find heartwarming and binge-worthy full-length romance novels filled with flawed and hunky heroes, sassy heroines, mixed signals, accidental attractions, dating disasters, unexpected twists, and huge jaw-dropping gestures to help balance out their many wrong turns along the way.

You'll be cheering out loud for Mr. Right to finally get it right.

From secret admirers, to best friends hoping to become more, to exes dying for a second chance, to fake relationships, to mistaken identities, there's something for everyone in these all-new, standalone, contemporary romantic comedies from your favorite USA Today bestselling, award-winning, and rising star authors.

Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge: Something I'm Proud of Doing

This week's topic: Something I'm Proud of Doing

As I think about this week's topic, I realize there are many things I'm proud of doing in my life.

I'm proud of being a mom of four amazing kids. Not only that, but I'm a single mom. My journey in life hasn't been easy, but I'm happy where I am now. Of course, things aren't perfect. Life is never perfect, and there are certainly struggles. But I'm proud of who I am, the journey I took to get here, my successes, and yes, even my failures. It's all what makes me, well... me. I'm proud of who my children are becoming, the decisions they're making, and knowing I help guide them.

Also, I'm proud of my career as a romance author. This, too, has been a struggle. I've been writing all my life, always with the dream of becoming a successful author. As I look back, I see the mistakes I've made in this journey, the many times I nearly gave up. But here I am! Still writing! Still learning! Still growing! Still working toward my dream. At this point in my life, I know many people who've given up on their dream careers. I haven't. And I'm proud of my determination and persistence.

I'm also proud that I've achieved many of my writing career goals. I wrote a book! I wrote many books. I'm published! Many times now over the last decade. One of my biggest goals was to become a USA Today Bestselling author. And I did it! Even if I'll only ever see my name on that list just one time, it was worth it. I'm still a little fish in a ginormous pond, but people are reading my books. Better yet, they seem to enjoy them! How cool is that!? I'm proud of each book I write and publish, as each work is a huge accomplishment for me.

One more thing I'm proud of, and it might seem a little silly, but I love it. I'm proud that I taught myself how to knit and crochet. It's something I've always wanted to learn, something that my mother had only started to teach me before she died. It is incredibly satisfying to create useful everyday objects out of bits of string. Really, it almost feels like magic!

What are you proud of?

Winter is coming and 'tis the season to curl up with a mug of hot cocoa, nestle in front of a warm fireplace, and read to your heart's content.

And I've got some reading material I'd like to suggest! :)

If you're looking for something spicy to keep you warm while you read, then The Alien and the Elf might be just the book for you! It's a short, alien sci-fi holiday romance that will be certain to heat up your holiday stockings!

My name is Noelle, and I'm an elf.

I was minding my own business, testing a newly installed engine on Santa's sleigh when it suffered a slight malfunction. I found myself spiraling out of control. Then a bright beam of light hit from above, and I'm taken on board a spaceship.

Jaxar is a sexy, to-die-for, green-skinned alien who thinks I'm stealing his salvage.

He's never met an elf.

Well, I've never met an alien.

With no way to get home, I need Jaxar's help. Can we work together to fix Santa's sleigh in time to save Christmas?
